What's SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. This helps to protect user data such as credit card details and personal information.
To use SSL, usually a certificate must be purchased through an authorized certificate authority and then installed on your site.
Vistors can then access the site using Https:// (rather than http://) in the address bar. The user's browser will provide warnings that the site is insecure when accessing a site through https that doesn't have a valid certificate.
Google now penalize sites that don't have certificates.
Bizink provides free SSL certificates on all websites.
